Who We Are

Who we are as a church…

At First Baptist Church of Cimarron, Kansas we take the words of Jeremiah 8:21-22 to heart:

“Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me. Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?” (NIV)

  • We realize that, in this world, people are either hurting or healing…
We are a hospital for those who are hurting and for those who desire to aid in the healing of others.
  • We also realize that it takes a commitment from those who have been healed to help those who are hurting…
We are a place where people can come to minister to others, or be ministered to.

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body… Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.” – 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (NIV)

In order for a hospital to function, we have certain needs that must met:

  • There will be those who need to be the ambulance drivers, EMTs, and paramedics – who can reach out to those who are hurting and searching for a better way.
  • We need the emergency room workers who are our front line for when people come in – to make certain that they are properly cared for.
  • We need the doctors who can come along side of those brought in and minister to them – so that they may be healed and made well through Jesus Christ.
  • We also need those who provide follow-up care – to disciple them so that they can continue on the path God has set before them.

Then they will be able to help others going through the same things in their lives. We have come to realize this is a never ending cycle into the middle of which God has placed us, His church.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3
